Kip Meek
Kip’s role as Chair of Ascension is to ensure good governance and to provide counsel to the management team.
Kip is an Inquiry Chair at the Competition and Markets Authority, Chair of A Million Ads (an Ascension investee company) and Chair of Jangala, a charity aiming to enable wireless communications in challenging environments (such as refugee camps and remote schools and medical centres). He is also the co-founder of the Communications Chambers, a network of senior communications industry professionals, and a Senior Adviser to the Wireless Infrastructure Group.
He previously set up and ran a strategy consulting boutique, Spectrum, which focused on the media and telecoms industries and had offices in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Subsequently, he helped launch Ofcom and was a board member during its first four years – he was particularly closely involved in European regulation and chaired the European Regulators Group in 2007.
He was born in Tanzania and still has close links to East Africa.
