Last week we closed the latest deal for Ascension Fund III, and we’re SO excited to share that we’re welcoming the amazing Hesta Health to the portfolio!

Hesta Health is redesigning the front door to women’s healthcare – starting with postnatal care, and laying the foundation for a fully integrated, life-stage platform that meets women’s needs across their entire health journey. We love it as it’s a true end-to-end service, not just a symptom tracker or point solution, but a full-stack redesign of how care is accessed, delivered, and experienced.

But this is just the beginning. Hesta is building the infrastructure for a new standard of care.

Why we invested 💡
A clear wedge into a massive, underserved market – Women’s health has long been overlooked. 25% of women spend a quarter of their lives in poor health, and postnatal care is one of the most neglected chapters. Hesta starts here, where urgency and unmet needs collide, to build trust and engagement – and to grow into a broader platform that spans menopause, fertility, chronic pain and more.

Exceptional founder-market fit – With deep operational and clinical roots, the founding team blends public health, healthcare policy, and scaled tech execution. Dr Sujitha Selvarajah brings her experience as a frontline OBGYN and public health leader, while Amanda Cupples brings commercial and operating excellence from Babylon and Airbnb. Their combined track record gives them both credibility and clarity.

Impact embedded from day one – Hesta is not just serving affluent early adopters. Its model is designed to scale through partnerships with employers and payors, expanding access to underserved women and creating real system-wide cost savings. The long-term cost of untreated postnatal complications is staggering (£8.1bn annually for perinatal mental health conditions alone). Hesta is turning reactive, fragmented care into proactive, preventative care for millions.

For us, Hesta is the kind of business we love backing: mission-aligned, structurally scalable, and founded by a team that knows how to build – and bend systems – for good.
