Vin Murria OBE
Vin’s career has included a combination of venture capital, private equity and CEO/operational experience, centred around twenty years of M&A activity in the software sector. Her recent past includes 7 years as Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Computer Software plc, which she founded in 2008. Advanced is a consolidator in the healthcare and business solutions sector which, in March 2015 was acquired by Vista Private Equity for £765m (circa $1.2Bn).
For the five years prior to this, Vin was CEO of Computer Software Group plc, a small shell which she joined in Sept 2002. After a period of strong organic and inorganic growth Vin and her team took the business private backed by HG Capital and subsequently following two further strategic acquisitions and a merger exited the merged entity to the US private equity vehicle Hellman Friedman in July 2007 for £500m (circa $800m).
Vin is currently non-executive director at FTSE250 Sophos Plc, Zoopla Plc, and Softcat Plc, and a Senior advisor at NM Rothschilds. Previous roles include 15 years at Kewill Systems plc (exited in March 2000 at a market valuation of $1.8bn), non-executive at Chime Plc and Greenko Plc, acquired by Providence and GIC Private equity respectively, and Concateno Plc acquired by Inverness Medical.
Vin was named Overall Asian Woman of the Year( 2010), Cisco’s Woman of the Year (2012), and Tech Entrepreneur of Year ( 2012) whilst Advanced was named Tech Company of Year (2014) having grown to be the 3rd largest UK headquartered Software Business. In 2007 Vin formed and fully funded a charitable foundation targeted at educating and supporting women in in the India and the UK.
