Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday evening. 🏛️
Last week I had the privilege of representing Ascension at the EISA Awards at the House of Lords, and we came away as runners-up in not one but two categories:
- 🥈 Best SEIS Fund Manager
- 🥈 Best Impact Investment
Eighteen months ago I joined this team as an intern. Standing in the House of Lords watching Ascension get recognised twice in one night by the EIS industry's own association was a genuine pinch-me moment.
What made it land for me is what these two categories say together: we're being recognised both for how we manage money at the earliest stage and for the impact of the companies we back. That combination is exactly what we talk to advisers about every day.
I've said it before — we've historically been better at doing the work than shouting about it. Nights like this make the case for us.
